Lifeguard Re-certification candidates must hold a current American Red Cross lifeguard certification. They must also be able to demonstrate 300-yards continuous swim, using the front crawl and breaststroke, tread water for 2-minutes without using arms, and able to retrieve a 10-lb weight from 7-feet of water, then swim 20-yards, with legs only. Upon successful completion of the Lifeguard Re-certification course, candidates will receive an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification, a Standard First Aid certification and a CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification valid for 2 years. NOTE: Lifeguard Re-certification candidates must have current basic certifications in the following: Lifeguard, Standard First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Proof of current basic certifications is required on the first day of class.
